Paying out handset contract

Brains trust, I live overseas and don’t use my Telstra phone but want to maintain the phone and number.

I have been trying since December 2020 through the 24/7 app to pay out the handset but Telstra seem incapable of doing so.

I just want to reduce monthly costs on my account while I’m not using it. 
many suggestions as to how I can get Telstra to action my request? Any call is diverted to the 24:7 app, standard COVID excuse.

The 24/7 app was deprecated a long time ago. Do you have the My Telstra app on your phone? You need to use the messaging function on that (blue icon in the bottom right corner of the Get Help screen).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
