Phone Number


I didnt realise that a simcard needs to be 3G compatible to keep a phone working, so since the 1st of december my wife her phone stopped working.

Today I went to the telstra shop for a new simcard for  her phone. In the store I got a simcard and was told that to activate it I have to make a call to telstra. Now WHY is it that I CANT find a single phone number on the whole site???

Doesnt telstra want us to call them??

Does anyone here knows phonenumber that I can call to activate the new simcard?

I need to explain that she needs to keep her old phonenumber.

( have to lay down a bit now, everytime I have to deal with telstra I get sick and no I'm not kidding :(((

Telstra's phone number is 132200.
If it is a prepaid service you can also call 1258887.
You can also chat with Telstra 24x7 here: and they can do that for you as well...

...although, the store /should/ have been able to do it themselves... it takes them about a whole 1-3 min...

Their contact details are available on you just need to select the reason and it gives you the best number.

The number and website details are also included on the little leaflet that was in the pack with the SIM.


You can activate online at and you choose the option to activate new SIM for existing service which will keep your number.


Also, the phone needs to be 3G compatible, so if it isn't then she'll need a new phone too.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
