SMS retention period

I have been overseas for a couple of weeks and having returned no SMS messages have come through when I have reconnected to the network.  There should at least be message bank notifications and would expect others as well.  Is there a time limit in which sms' have to be accessed or is there a way of retrieving messages for the last couple of weeks?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: SMS retention period

From Part E – SMS, Messages and Email in the Telstra Mobile section of Our Customer Terms:

2.10We will try to deliver an SMS for up to 7 days. If it cannot be delivered after 7 days, the SMS will be deleted from the Telstra SMS network.
Departed from CrowdSupport as of 12 June 2013, when the fun factor for me had finally completely evaporated with all the recent site layout and functionality changes, and the apparent efforts to turn a community goodwill-powered vehicle into something closer to a customer service channel.
