Updating Plan

I have attempted to update my mobile plan for more internet data however for some unknown reason my bigpond email has been associated to my family’s account but my mobile is not. This mean even if I log into My Telstra I cannot update my plan. I attempted to make a new Telstra ID however it recognises my email and associates it with an already existing account. I have no idea now how to update my plan so could someone please help?
