Upgrading plan

Answered

Hello,

I am trying the change my mobile phone data plan from small to large.
It continue to prompts me to pay my outstanding balance of over $1000 on my plan to increase my data allowance.

I don’t want a complete new plan, just a upgrade.

when signing up I was told that I could change it at any time.

Re: Upgrading plan

If it's an actual outstanding balance, then you need to pay that before Telstra will allow you to upgrade.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Upgrading plan

Which plan are you on?

Where are you trying to do the upgrade, via the My Telstra app ot the My Account web page?

The outstanding amount mentioned is a device repayment?

Not with Telstra, just another customer like you!

Re: Upgrading plan

I am on a small plan .
I explained to the guy in the shop I cannot connect  to wifi in out street so I am unsure how much data I need.

He said start of with the small and we can change is if need be. Easy as .

He said it can be done anytime.nothing about fees or paying out the balance.
I just wanna extra data. That is all

Re: Upgrading plan

Hi there, it does sound like the plan change is charging out the remaining repayments on a device. The app may be looking to move you to the new Up-Front plans which will charge out any remaining device repayment contracts, however you can still just upgrade to the large plan on your existing agreement.

If you want to reach out to us over PM via Facebook or DM via Twitter we can grab some details and look in to this for you.
