Why has 4G suddenly started dropping out completely

We moved our phone and mobile broadband accounts from Optus 3 weeks ago because Telstra mobile broadband data was available at our new home office location. For 3 weeks it’s been very good but in the last 48 hours it’s simply dropped out. There has been no acknowledgement  of a problem by Telstra but there is still no 4G. It’s gone from max bars to no bars!! Something is going on with the mobile towers in our area but there is no one to ask.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

You can check for known outages at https://outages.telstra.com.au

And you can send a message using the My Telstra app on your mobile (blue icon, bottom right of Get Help screen) and someone should respond in a few hours/couple of days.

What suburb/town and state are you in?

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

5204 Wirrina cove. The problems started over the weekend when there were strong winds in the area. From having a strong 4G signal we now only get 3G and then 1 bar of 4G for just a few seconds. 4G mobile broadband performance has dropped more than 90% since last weekend
