Why is it that you no longer support the Data share sim?
Telstra used to provide the Data Share sim for $15/month that would allow a secondary/tertiary sim to be allocated to an already existing account and share the data across the devices from that account. The removal of this function has required customers to purchase additional accounts across their devices to achieve the same effect. Completely superfluous. Please reactivate the data sharing sim functionality

That's been gone quite a long time now. But I think you answered your own question.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
