Hi Guys,
IT specialist setting up one of these smart modems. I have a customer who has asked me to disable all RF interfaces on a telstra smart modem model DJA0231.
Problem is the unit just won't stop outputting RF.
I've pulled the 4G backup Sim. I have logged into the settings, disabled the mobile interface, disabled 2.4 and 5Ghz WIFI interfaces. But is still outputting RF. I click on the DECT interface settings, there is no settings to disable that which I can see, nothing else I can find to disable.
Please help, customer not happy.
Thanks.

There is only a setting for disabling the DECT in the F@st5355 modem and even after disabling DECT the modem still transmitted RF. There is no way to turn off RF radiation completely on the Telstra modems.

Re: Disable ALL radio interfaces on DJA0231
Tried that. Even with WIFI off, the unit outputs an RF signal.
Perhaps it is the DECT signal, but can't find how to disable.

@waynosp Ok, I'll flag a couple of Telstra modem gurus to check out your post in case they miss it?

Re: Disable ALL radio interfaces on DJA0231
Relocating the modem to a remote location on the property may minimise RF but would requiire longer LAN cables and not feasible for some. A few months ago, I participated in this forum on a post where that writer's non elegant final solution involved putting a metal box on top of the modem, acting as a Faraday cage, and he seemed happy with that outcome. There may be some ventilation issues with heat dissipation in summer and an occasional look inside required to make sure all is working OK.

Have you ever found a modem/router brand that you can omit all RF?
