DWM-222 usb modem has full bars but “network searching”

I purchased a DWM-222 and Telstra SIM. It worked in my Windows 10 PC but has suddenly stopped. Now when I put it in it finds the SIM and shows full bars but also says “network searching”. The “Connect” button is greyed out. I have tried 3 different Telstra SIMs snd all have the same problem. I tried a Vodafone SIM and it works. Why wont a Telstra SIM work any more?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the DLink software. I have rebooted the PC. I have confirmed there is a balance on the SIM. I have tried both a phone SIM and a data SIM. It was working until I ran out of credit but now wont connect at all.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: DWM-222 usb modem has full bars but “network searching”

Hi - when you select Settings,Network - is the Access Point Name for The Telstra Mobile Broadband showing - it could be 'telstra.internet' or 'telstra.iph' - maybe there has been a change implemented by Telstra recently.

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
