Google Chromecast Not Connecting to Telstra New Modem Gen 2
I have a Telstra Gateway Max 2 modem and my Google Chromecast Ultra works just fine. I just received a new Telstra Modem (Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2) and the Google Chromecast Ultra refuses to connect to it. I restored factory settings multiple times on the Chromecast, but it can never connect to the network.
I setup my old Telstra Gateway Max 2 modem and it connect immediately.
Is there a known problem and fix for using the Google Chromecast Ultra with the new Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2?

Re: Google Chromecast Not Connecting to Telstra New Modem Gen 2
There is no known compatibility issues with the google Chromecast and the Gen 2 modem that would prevent the chromcast device connecting.
One thing you could try is disabling band steering in the modem's 2.4 GHz WiFi settings, this adds -5G to the mode 's 5 GHz WiFi name. The modem's WiFi networks now have two separate names.
Another thing you could try is turning off or disabling Protected Management Frames (Wi-Fi PMF) in the modem's advanced WiFi settings.
Do you get any error messages when you try to connect?

Thank you for replying so quickly. With those two features disabled, it works. Thank you.
