HELP: cable gateway modem interferes with TV set top box

Hi everyone...really appreciate if someone could help me out here.

I recently had a Telstra Gateway Max modem installed at my house and since then every time I turn on the modem, it causes my TV (with set up box) to go out of signal.

This set top box is connected to a satellite dish that's outside the house. We had this set up box for a number of years so I assume it receives weaker signal than the Telstra modem (or the cables are not as good?)

We have tried

  • turning off the Wi-Fi connection for the modem
  • change the bandwith frequency for Wi-Fi

None of above help the TV receiving its signal

Could someone suggest another way to have both of them working at the same time?

Thanks!

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Get the internal wiring checked. You may need a splitter / amplifier installed.

Hi BlackButterfly,

Have you solved this problem yet? We have the same issue as well. Recently had the NBN installed with the T Gateway modem.

Cheers
