modem

Answered

I am on cable using Gateway Max 2, I am about to change internet and phone plans and have been given the option to upgrade to the Smart Modem. Will it give me same or faster speed, is there a need to upgrade to this? (NBN not in my area yet) Thanks

Cheers

Re: modem

You could use the Gateway Max II but the Smart Modem is free and has 4G backup. The WiFi is better on the Smart modem so you might achieve better speeds with Devices connected by Wifi.

Re: modem

Thanks for that, its not free though, I have to pay $216 for it. I like the idea of the 4G back up so I will give it a go, thanks

Re: modem

just to follow up on this I was getting an average 25-30 speed on the gateway max and now I am getting 40-50 on the smart modem so pretty happy and the 4g back up is good too.
