All Telstra modems are provided free on sign-up, provided you stay with them for 24 months. Otherwise, you are charged at $9 per month of that 24 months left.
I have seen current customers being offered a new modem, but no mention, if there are any fees if you leave before 24 months are up. Maybe read any fine print on the offer?
