Doing a kitchen renovation. New house.
1) My modem needs to be moved ASAP so I need a new outlet. What is the process and cost please.
2) Are all phone lines “live” I do have other phone outlets in other rooms that can be used.

Re: Moving a modem
Normally all phone lines are live but you get best performance from the outlet connected closes to the street cabling. In some houses there might be a central splitter installed and only one socket can be used for a DSL connection. You will have to test the other sockets to see if they are live.
A Electrician or Technician with an Austel Cabling license can Install another socket. To install another socket you will need to contact a Electrician or cabler and ask them to give you a quote.
