Nighthawk

I have a nighthawk. It turns itself off constantly but doesn’t turn itself back on again and takes more than ten mins of removing battery and putting back in to get it working again. In the mornings same thing to start it up

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Nighthawk

It would be a useful test if you remove the battery and run in just on electricity.

It will happily work without the battery.

You also can check with your phone or modem if there is a stronger signal area in your premises.

Re: Nighthawk

If you are using it in the one location plugged in all the time, the manufacturer's recommendation is to use it without the battery inserted. Otherwise the battery can get damaged (they didn't include adequate overcharge protection on them).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Nighthawk

If you have deduced that the battery is the cause and you have some reason to retain it working on battery (though unnecessary if electricity available), Netgear do not sell replacement batteries in Australia.

I have come across a source of battery replacement which states it is original:

http://antennashop.com.au/shop/netgear/w-10-a-genuine-netgear-m1-m2-battery-detail

and a well regarded  after market supplier https://www.batteryworld.com.au/Battery-for-Netgear-Nighthawk-M1
