Purchase a NBN connection box for HFC install

Hi,

Our house is registered with NBN as fibre to FTTC and yet we are NOT and work off HFC (foxtel cable) for our internet. To move onto the NBN we would like Telstra to send us a NBN connection box, splitter and cable for connection to the HFC outlet as we have no ADSL connection to our house. We ring, explain, and yet they refuse to send us this vital equipment. Does anyone know where we can buy this gear?

Thanks

Re: Purchase a NBN connection box for HFC install

You can't buy that gear it is only issued by NBN to customers connecting to NBN HFC. In some areas that originally used Telstra cable NBN Co has installed infrastructure to support NBN FTTC instead of NBN HFC. Even if you had a NBN HFC box you would not be able to connect to NBN HFC as the street cabling has not been upgraded to support NBN HFC.

Do you have any phone sockets in the premises? You don't need an previous ADSL connection just a phone line to connect to FTTC.

Re: Purchase a NBN connection box for HFC install

Hi,

OK I understand. No we don't have a phone line. The house was built 4 years ago and we were advised that the cable to nbn would suffice as by that stage we just had a voip home phone and now we have given it up.

So we may have to get a NBN technician out.
