Re two Nbn white boxes

Answered
Hi. Can anyone help clarify something for me. I have Nbn telstra gateway. I'm now on the 99 dollar plan and have been sent a telstra gateway frontier box that has a different wi fi name. Before I touch any wires, do I swap the boxes? And do I now have two telstra accounts? Also what do I do with the old modem.

Re: Re two Nbn white boxes

The Frontier modem has a 4G failover mode which kicks in if your NBN goes down, so it is worth using. That being said you generally have to pay for the modem.

I'd check with billing first to make sure you haven't been charged for it if you didn't request it during the bundle change

If you do swap it out, just hang onto the old modem. They can be useful if something happens to the frontier and you need it replaced so you can still get internet in the interim, or for troubleshooting to determine if the modem is at fault
