Smart Modem Gen 2 takes over bookmarked page

I recently have installed a new NBN Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 - power to modem was accidentally switched off - whilst re-booting I tried loading a bookmark to see if it had connected - it hadn't and the bookmark loaded the http://mymodem.modem/ page - now the bookmark will only load that page

I don't want to flush my entire cache and /or cookies as I have a lot of stuff stored that makes life easy - I'm using Chrome Version 75.0.3770.100 on a mac Mojave

is there a way around this problem - I've tried shift refreshing but that does not work as the bookmark url reloads the mymodem page

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Smart Modem Gen 2 takes over bookmarked page

If you refresh the cache it will only delete the browsing history. Your bookmarks will still work and any stored passwords will still still work.

It is strange that you keep getting redirected to the modems login page on all bookmarks. This usually only effects one or two bookmarks. Are you sure the internet connection is now working. Are the online and WAN / DSL (Link) lights green?

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
