Smart Modem still on Backup Pathway
My Smart Modem has recently been constantly on the Backup Pathway with a magenta 'Online' light and weak signal which has brought my internet speed down by at least half,
I have done my own research into this and have seen some people are on "provision" or are calibrating the new area that is why, but I only had this Backup Pathway issue ever since our power has been restored after a power outage 3 or more weeks ago at this point.
I gave Telstra time to fix this on their own but after multiple ignored calls asking for help I'm looking to see what my options are here. Can anyone help me?
Was this helpful?
- Yes it was, thank you
- No, I still need help

Re: Smart Modem still on Backup Pathway
On backup mode the speed is limited to 23 Mbps down and about 3 Mbps up.
What type off connection do you have (ADSL, FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, FTTP, NBN HFC, Telstra cable or NBN Fixed Wireless)?
What colour is the link light? If link light is green and you have an ADSL connection log into the modem (http://192.168.0.1), go to the Broadband settings and check that the user name and password is correct.
