Telstra support has been useless as per usual so I am trying here.
I am on Telstra Velocity, with a Technicolor DJA0230TLS router.
Since about a week a specific device on my network is being blocked from connecting via WiFi to the router.
As soon as I turn the device on, the router starts logging these messages:
Sun Aug 2 08:00:24 2020 daemon.info hostmanager: Ignoring wireless station event for unknown device
The device can connect to other wireless networks without an issue, and until last week was working fine.
The device is Xiaomi branded.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Did not know that this firmware was available for the DJA0230. That firmware update added a new security feature to the WiFi (PMF Protected management frames). Not all devi es support PMF. Suggest you disable PMF in tha Advanced > WiFi settings.

Re: Technicolor DJA0230TLS Not Allowing WiFi Connection (Specific Devices)
Have you tried disabling band steering in modem's 2.4 GHz WiFi settings? If that doesn't work try factory reseting modem.

Yep. Turned off band-steering. Using only 2.4Ghz. Turned off all guest networks.
Restarted the modem.
Factory reset the modem as well.

What firmware does your modem have? (Advanced > Gateway) Current firmware is 18.1.c.0462-950-RA.

Re: Technicolor DJA0230TLS Not Allowing WiFi Connection (Specific Devices)
I had the very same issue just started from early August.
After checking most, i found that on my WIFI security mode was reset to WPA2 PSK (some how) then i change it to WPA+ WPA2 PSK
Then restart the router . My device connected.
Still wondering how it automatically change to WPA2 PSK without my knowlage? Was there an automatic firmware update to the telstra smart modem?

Re: Technicolor DJA0230TLS Not Allowing WiFi Connection (Specific Devices)
The Smart Modems get a automatic firmware update about every three months. The latest for the Technicolor modem DJA0230 and DJA0231 which was started being pushed to modems Early July Gen 2 modems and late July Gen 1 modems is 18.1.c.0514-950-RB. This firmware updated added Protected Management Frames WiFi security.
