Technicolor DJA0230TLS Port Forward & Bridged Mode in 4G backup mode
I have a Technicolor DJA0230TLS. I'm running on 4G backup mode cue to a cable issue outside my home, so without DSL for the time being.
I usually don't use this device at all as I have an ASUS router which I connect to the separate cable modem.
I'm trying to port forward to my ASUS (different subnet) through the Smart Modem, however, I have not been able to make this work. Seems to be a limitation of the device.
Further, I have tried to do a port forward on the DJA0230TLS to a directly connected ethernet device and still I am running into problems. I have not been able to get this to work.
If I run the DJA0230TLS in Bridged mode, will the 4G Backup continue working?
Thanks, haok

Re: Technicolor DJA0230TLS Port Forward & Bridged Mode in 4G backup mode
Port forwarding does work on the DJA0230TLS when in normal mode but not when modem is working in backup mode. In backup mode the modem does not have a public IP address due to carrier grade NAT, which is used on all Telstra mobile connections except for some business mobile data connections.
If you run modem in Bridge mode Backup will not continue to work.

Thanks for the response cf4. My questions are answered.
I suspected this would the result, which is not a good one. No DSL and no access to my home network from the internet through port forwarding.

As far as I know, all connections using the telstra.hybrid APN are now IPv6 only and have been for a while now

Re: Technicolor DJA0230TLS Port Forward & Bridged Mode in 4G backup mode
Even with the IPv6 address port forwarding doesn't work and when I check the WAN address of the modem at "What is My IP Address" it only reports an IPv4 address.
IPv4: 1.143.xxx.xx
IPv6: Not detected
