Telstra Gateway Max 2 Issue?
Hi guys,
As the title implies I have an issue with my Gateway 2 and I'm unable to determine if it is a drop out or modem fault. I got this Gateway 2 from Telstra since my previous Gateway Max 1 was faulty.
On April 2nd my internet cut out, upon checking my router all the LEDS disappeared, one went white, then one went green and slowly all picked up, after a few minutes my service went up and running. Fast forward to today (April 12), it has done it again and I've noticed my modem settings the following:
-DSL Uptime time restarts as expected
-Uptime on the router (as in how long it has been powered for) has reset itself like the time in the DSL Uptime
-The log viewer time has completely reset itself to when the internet has come back online
Here is a link to my logs in a word document:

Re: Telstra Gateway Max 2 Issue?
There was a case of a few fulti modems....
im not 100% sure but from the logs I would say request a new modem......
there seems to be a lot of failure in setting local adress...
also would suggest doing a ping test to the DNS servers in your state as it seems to be timing out (either the link inmy sig or via command line)....

Kudos and thanks welcomed

Re: Telstra Gateway Max 2 Issue?
Thanks for the reply, I pinged my State DNS server (Victoria), both primary and secondary and pinged successfully through command prompt, no failures.
As for requesting a new modem, I just requested a new one last month as the previous one Telstra gave me was faulty too...
I've been through 5-6 modems in the past maybe 3-4 years since they all keep going faulty...

Re: Telstra Gateway Max 2 Issue?
by no failures I presume you mean no lengthy delays either???
have seen delays on occassions of upto 8-900ms and that would affect connection ability
Kudos and thanks welcomed

Re: Telstra Gateway Max 2 Issue?
Hi again, it happened again and this time I watched the process.
My LINK led disappeared, leaving the ONLINE green led, then that disappeared and all my Leds had zero lights, then the link went white, then blue, then finally green and the internet/phone LED went green. Inbetween the LED lights going green and the Link going white, my computer registered a internet connection however the modem registered no internet connectivity, of course this clear up once all the lights went green.
It also reset the uptime of both the router and DSL uptime along with my event viewer.
As for your question, pinging both primary and secondary DNS for Victoria gives me an average of 12ms response time , however I did find this little thing on the following:
Connection check:
