Telstra Gen 2 Wifi booster

Answered

Hi, I'm about to purchase a Telstra Gen 2 Wifi Booster and i have a question about it's connection.

I have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 installed ok and working downstairs in a house and ethernet between the modem and upstairs.

If i want Telstra Gen 2 Wifi Booster upstairs, can i connect it via Ethernet back to the Smart modem and leave it connected like that?

So, it can work like a cabled in Access Point.

The install Docco seems to indicate that once it is paired and or configured via the Ethernet cable, just disconnect it and move it around wirelessly,

My signal from downstairs won't reach upstairs so i would need to leave it cabled in via Ethernet.

So, is this an option? or am i better off buying a dedicated Access point ?

Yes you can leave the Gen 2 booster permanently connected by Ethernet cable and use as a dedicated access point.
