Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 Mobile Reliability
I am currently about to move into a place where we can't get the NBN connected to our building straight away until we save up to have it connected, (newish building, fibre is out the front just not connected to the upstairs apartment).
I know the modem can switch itself to mobile broadband when a sim card is install (which it is). Will the modem be fine to run the internet via mobile broadband until we get the NBN installed?

Re: Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 Mobile Reliability
For the modem provide internet via the installed 4G backup SIM you must have a fixed line Telstra internet service. Even with a fixed line service the backup is throttled after a certain amount of data is used. The throttling can temporarily be removed by contacting Telstra. To use the modem as in permanent 4G mode a normal Telstra SIM has to be installed and the APN changed to Telstra.Internet in the modem settings.
