Telstra Technicolor DJA0231 - how to monitor internet traffic

My kids need internet access for their homework, but I know at times they get distracted and go to gaming sites instead of working . I'm looking for a way to monitor their browsing history . I know in previous modems I could see a log on the modem page for this, but I cannot work out how to do that with this model

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Unfortunately the DJA0231 does not a function for monitoring sites visited. To my knowledge all the resent Telstra modem's don't have the ability to monitor sites visited, you will need to use a non Telstra router that has a site monitor built in.

From what I know there are 3rd party softwares you can download on your computer. Wireshark is pretty good at capturing network activity although it doesn't state what device and what sites its tried to reach, you'll need to figure that out by devices and site IPs. Its probably not the best choice for you.

Edit: Forgot to say but it will be hard for a non technological user to use. Would get the job done.
