TG797n V3 - ReConfigure Username and Password for another ISP

Answered

Hi,

I recently purchased the "Telstra Standard Business Gateway" TG797n V3 Modem Router and am trying to configure it for another ISP. By default, the gateway has got the username and pwd and I had to change both of them to the one's that my ISP has provided for.

Every time I run through the Setup (under TechniColor Gateway --> Change Setup (Advanced)) and select PPPoEWAN option from the dropdown and enter the ISP's given Username and Pwd, it takes some time for the setup to do the changes and I see that the lights on the Modem Router turn off and on. But after all, I still see that the username and pwd in the WAN is still with the SAME OLD Username and pwd (from Telstra) and not the one's that I've just entered for.

Can you please let me know how to overcome this issue. My internet is NBN FTTP.

Thanks,

Hem

Instead of using the set up wizard open a web browser on a device connected to the modem and goto  http://10.0.0.138. On the Basic home page go to the Broadband settings and try entering your ISP’s user name and password in the PPOE settings.
