TPLink Archer vr2100 setup issues - FTTN

I've just purchased a TPLink Archer vr2100 & I'm not sure what settings to use for my FTTN broadband connection.

My current modem -  Tesltra Smart Modem says I'm connected by IPOE, but then has PPPOE settings below that.

VR2100 has no Testra VDSL settings & I am not sure what to use.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: TPLink Archer vr2100 setup issues - FTTN

The PPPOE settings in the Telstra modem are only there when the modem is used on an ADSL connection. They are ignored on all ADSL connections.

When setting up the Internet connection go to Advanced > Network > Internet

VLAN ID unticked.

Internet Connection Type Dynamic IP

IPv4 Enabled Ticked

IPv6 Enabled

Addressing Type DHCP

Thanks CF4, but this didn't work.

Tried it in DSL operation mode & wireless router operation mode; same result. "WAN disconnected"

Re: TPLink Archer vr2100 setup issues - FTTN

The Mode should be set to DSL Operation mode if you have the DSL port connected to phone wall socket.

Could you post an Image of the Advanced > Network > Internet page?

There should be an ipoe_PTM_xxx connection. Click on the Edit and set to

DSL Modulation Type VDSL

VLAN ID unticked.

Internet Connection Type Dynamic IP

IPv4 Enabled Ticked

IPv6 Enabled

Addressing Type DHCP

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
