VoIP

Does anyone know how to allow a VoIP phone to be connected to your modem. Plugged it in and it worked for 20 mins then was restricted. Apparently the modem needs to be changed to allow this - any ideas how you do that. We have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2. Thanks

Re: VoIP

Who is your service provider? I have a mynetfone VOIP service and have not had to use any special settings for the service to work when phone is connected to a Gen 2 modem.

Re: VoIP

Service Provider is Telstra. It is a polycom phone. It worked for 20 minutes then stopped and I have been told by our IT guys that I need to contact the provider as there is a setting on the modem than blocks it until unblocked. Just hoping someone might now how to do that instead of me waiting on the phone to talk to them at the moment...currently 4 hour wait...

Re: VoIP

Did your IT people tell you which port or service is being blocked?
