VPN via Telstra Gateway Max

I have a Gateway Max, I want to use Express VPN so I can connect it to my smart TV because as yet there are no apps available for TVs.
How do I configure/change the modem settings within the computer that the modem is hardwired to so I can use the VPN software on my TV?
Do I just download the ExpressVPN app onto my PC, set up the app and go or is there more to it?
Iam guessing that there is more to it?
Please help.

Re: VPN via Telstra Gateway Max

Telatra modems can run any VPN client such as express vpn. Youd need a third party modem/router that has that capacity.
I work for Telstra, but my opinions are my own and not that of Telstras

You say that although "Telstra modems can run any VPN client such as VPN Express I would need a third party modem/router that has that capacity"????
I don't understand that comment, it doesn't make any sense at all to me!!

Re: VPN via Telstra Gateway Max

Sorry that should have been can't not a can.

If you want your vpn client to be run on the modem so that any devices connected to your modem (such as your TV) will send there data through the VPN connection you'll need a third party modem that supports that feature.
