what settings should I have on my Mac to access internet

Hi I recently signed up with Telstra had technician around who told me everything this end (my house and exchange) is good to go, however I need to ring Telstra to set up there end. so I did was told, give us 24-48hrs and you will have internet. that was last week I still cannot get any internet. I was wondering is there any settings that I could be missing or need to change on my computer or modem (Telstra Gen2). I cannot get through to Telstra with this COVID19, they just don't pick up,  any help please.
