White flashing light on Telstra smart modem gen 2

I have been experiencing internet dropouts many over a 24 hour period .  Have called Telstra and done all the resets, still no improvement.  Telstra sent a new modem again no improvement, however I now also have a white flashing light when the internet drops out .  Any ideas on how to fix my problems?....

Is the white flashing light on the front off the Telstra modem? The modem could be rebooting to update its firmware. What firmware is the modem? The firmware is displayed on LHS of modem's login page (http://192.168.0.1). Current firmware is

Thanks, I haven't received that firmware update yet.. When did you receive this update?

Hi cf4,

I received this update about 10 days ago.  I am on FTTC and it occurred overnight OK.

Notable change is that band steering option has been dropped from WiFi set up options, though PMF is still available.

I should add that on the Basic view menu, the band steering is still shown as an option but on the Advanced menu for WiFi, band steering is not there!!
