white light blinking

My Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 has stopped working. When I turn it on, the white light turns on and blinks every few minutes.

No lights are on at the back of the box

Re: white light blinking

A blinking white light would normally indicate powering up/resetting/updating..

If you disconnect your internet service - pull out the cable from the red WAN port or the grey DSL port, does the modem power up to a steady blue indicator? That could take a few minutes..

Re: white light blinking

Hi - if you have no LEDs on at the back at all and the modem is in a continuous start up loop by indicating flashing white LED every few minutes, it is likely that the modem has failed. Suggest you contact Telstra to organise a replacement unit.

For curiosity sake, I retrieved a DJ0231 out of an industrial skip bin a month ago - it went on white for 50 seconds, amber for another 50 seconds and green for 5-10 seconds, then went back to white to start the same process over and over again. Through all stages of LED colour changes there were no LEDs on the rear panel - dead modem.
