WIFI booster - Can I connect direct to computer

I have a computer upstairs and it does not have WIFI capability.

Am I able to use the Telstra WIFI booster (once connected and paired to my modem, then relocated upstairs) and connect the computer upstairs via an Ethernet cable?

Will this work ?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

yes that will work provided the Booster is setup correctly. You can even run a switch of the booster ethernet port. Speed will depend on the wifi link from modem to booster.

Too many devices, probably an addict 🙂 also a tinkerer and developer of stuff..
Not with Telstra, just another customer like you!

Your latency won't be very good if you are doing this for gaming. I recommend, for ethernet, a powerline ethernet adapter though there are some things to consider. 1. If your electrical wiring is bad or old it wont work as well. 2. You might not get very good speeds.

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
