wifi issues with thomson tg782t

First time user of this forum.  

we have the original thomson TG782T (probably 5 years old) modem still facilitating our home wifi.  Over the last 6 months we have experienced a growing number of dropouts and slow service.    Each time I run the diagnostics shows everything is ok, we rarely use our 200gb data limit so its not that.  


Interestingly each time I reboot the modem I need to do that twice for it to work and reconnect.   So is this telstra playing 'its time to upgrade' game or is it something else?

It certainly sounds like the modem itself is the issue, and after five years it is likely time for an upgrade. Nevertheless have a chat with us here: and we'll confirm that with you.
