Home phone and internet access

I moving house on 28 September and need internet access (and home phone). Telstra has sent information that the expected connection date for NBN access will be 19 October.


Do I have my internet and home phone on from 28 / 9 until or am I left with nothing??

Can't any information from Telstra.

As it won't be connected until the 19th October, you won't have an NBN connection. Your Telstra Smartmodem should still give you internet and phone by using the 4G backup.


Just be aware that there is a limit on how much data the backup service has each month before it gets slowed to 256kbps. If that happens, you will need to contact Telstra by sending a message through the My Telstra app on your mobile and ask that they submit the webform to unshape your 4G backup as you are still waiting for the NBN to be connected.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
