retaining phone number when moving house

I am moving house - same suburb - I have been through the online form but there is nowhere to say I want to retain my number.  I can not get through to anyone at Telstra and every day that passes in another day I will be without the phone at my new home...

Normally if you move within the same exchange area the number follows you automatically.


To contact Telstra at the moment, you need to send a message using the My Telstra app on your mobile (blue icon, bottom right of Get Help screen) and someone should respond in a few hours/couple of days.


You can mark the message as urgent by tapping on the icon in the top right of the message screen.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
