Activated Telstra Prepaid Sim Kit in Vietnam but can't get a signal.

So I bought a pre-paid sim kit online from Australia and had it sent over to Vietnam. I went through the motions of activating it, not a problem. So technically it is activated, however, the problem is there is no signal so can't receive or send any SMS messages which is all I really wanted to do. I was under the impression it would go into roaming mode once activated. Any suggestions?

It's all good I got it going. I turned off the find auto carrier, then it came up with a heap of Vietnamese phone carriers, I just selected the one at the top of the list and hey presto.
