I am trying to port my number to a different provider and Telstra deactivated my number

I am trying to move my number to a different provider. The provider requested a transfer but Telstra declined it. When I opened a chat with Telstra the did 1 hour to figure out what happened and then they told me

"I solved the issue you can now go to a different provider" and instead of unlocking my phone, they deactivated it. Now the other provider can't move it and Telstra is not responding to the support message.

What should I do?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

You will need to ask Telstra to reinstate your service and then get your new provider to relodge the port request.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
