I am traveling in Europe and have turned off data roaming however small amounts of data use, 1-6kb, is still coming up as being used on my Telstra bill. This tiny and totally uncontrollable use then triggers a Telstra daily roaming charge of $10. How do I stop this without taking out my SIM?

Change location services to GPS only, or turn location services off. That should fix the problem.

Re: International Roaming
Thanks,
however I am using IPhone XS and it appears that if i turn off location services I lose GPS functionality .
that stops use of downloaded offline maps from google maps and mapme.
is there any way to turn off mobile location services but retain GPS and WiFi using iPhone?

Re: International Roaming
Unfortunately, for Apple, I can't find a setting to set location services to GPS only. It's quite easy to do on Android.

Re: International Roaming
Wish I'd known about that trick when we went O/S last year. Exactly the same issue. Note to self - remember for future trips
