Travelling overseas with roaming and day pass using aeroplane mode

Travelling overseas for 7 weeks to Japan and Europe. I intend to activate roaming and day pass but leave phone on aeroplane mode most of the time only switching it off to make occasional calls home or to people in the country that I am travelling. Will I only be charged day pass fees for days I make those calls. I intend to otherwise use wifi at hotels. Will this work

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Travelling overseas with roaming and day pass using aeroplane mode

You will only be charged for the days that you make/receive calls or messages.

Change your location services settings either to off, or GPS only just to be sure (They can ignore airplane mode and ping local towers otherwise).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
