AFL Round 23 Highlights
Power v Bombers
Leading by 33 points at quarter time, the Dons were relentless with the Power struggling to get a word in. With a lively motivational pep talk by coach Ken Hinkley early in the game, Port looked like they had turned it around, but it wasn’t meant to be. Essendon kicked 5 goals in 12 minutes. Port ended their 2018 season with a new 12-10 win-loss record.
Port Adelaide 13.11.89 v Essendon 17.9.111
Dockers v Magpies
After the first ten minutes, Collingwood already had three goals. It looked like a forgone conclusion, but then Fremantle managed to kick 5 goals to end out that quarter. Were things suddenly turning around for Freo after last week’s stinker against Geelong? Maybe. Nope, then along came Mihocek. Magpies slip in by a narrow 9 points.
Fremantle 9.13.67 v Collingwood 11.10.76
Saints v Roos
AKA The Ben Brown Show starring Ben Brown, also starring Ben Brown with special guest star Ben Brown. North by 23 points.
St. Kilda 14.10.94 v North 17.15.117
Tigers v Doggies
What a cracker of a game. Richmond never led by more than three goals in the match. Marcus Bontempelli was King of the Tackles with an amazing 8. Rookie Billy Gowers kicked three goals. A very tight win of three points by the Tigers. Is Riewoldt a shoe-in for the Coleman? Can Dustin win back-to-back Brownlows? Will Richmond see off Hawthorn next week? Tune in next time to find out.

One last thing:
In the SANFL, Despite Norwood losing by only 26 points to the Panthers, the Mighty Redlegs remain top of the ladder. This is their first loss since Round 4. I can see the West End chimney now…glistening in the sun with fresh coats of shiny Red & Blue paint.
