Why you’ll love Google Pixel 5

Super-fast downloads. Ready when you are.

With 5G, you can download your favourite movies on the go and start watching before you know it.

5G now rolling out in selected areas on selected plans. To access the 5G network, you’ll need a 5G compatible device in a 5G coverage area. View the
5G coverage map to see where 5G is available and when it will be coming to your area. Subscriptions may be required.

A battery that lasts all day.
Pixel’s Adaptive Battery learns your favourite apps and reduces power to the ones that you rarely use. This limits background battery usage and helps your phone to last longer.

For 'All day': Maximum battery life based on testing using a mix of talk, data, standby and use of other features. Testing was conducted on two major carrier networks using Sub-6 GHz non-standalone 5G (ENDC) connectivity. Testing was conducted on two major carrier networks. Pixel 5 battery testing conducted by a third party in California in mid 2020 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that, for the 'up to 48 hour claim' only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower.

Add an extra day to your all-day battery.
Extreme Battery Saver helps your Pixel to last up to 48 hours when you really need it. This mode automatically limits active apps to just the essentials and lets you choose additional apps that you want to keep on. The rest get turned off.

For 'Up to 48 hours': Maximum battery life is based on testing using a mix of features including talk, data and standby, and limited use of other features that are set as the default in Extreme Battery Saver mode (which disables various features including 5G connectivity). Testing was conducted on two major carrier networks. Top-notch photos. Taken up a notch.
HDR+ makes your photos look better by automatically adjusting for colour and lighting.

The best light for your portraits.
Portrait Mode lets you capture beautiful portraits that focus on your subject as the background fades into an artful blur. If the lighting isn’t right, your Pixel can drop in extra light to illuminate your subjects.

Can take a splash.
Pixel 5 doesn’t mind a little water or dust. The metal unibody can handle being submerged in 1.5 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes.

Pixel 5 has a dust and water protection rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529. Charger and accessories are not water-resistant or dust-resistant. Water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and may be compromised due to normal wear and tear, repair, disassembly or damage.

Be there, without being there.
Get closer to the people that you love with ultra-clear HD screen sharing in Duo video calls. So you can watch the same video, cheer on sports with a friend and even plan activities – no matter how far apart you are.

Screen sharing not available on group calls. Requires Wi-Fi or 5G internet connection. Not available on all apps and content. Data rates may apply. 5G service, speed and performance depend on many factors including, but not limited to, carrier network capabilities, device configuration and capabilities, network traffic, location, signal strength, and signal obstruction.

Google Assistant. A little help wherever you go.
Use Google Assistant to manage your daily tasks, get proactive help at the right time and in the right place, control your phone and apps and much more.

Hey all,

Has anyone been able to get their Pixel 5 to connect via NR SA (standalone)?

I can only get mine to connect via NR NSA (non-standalone), and if I force it to 'NR only' then I get no data/voice connectivity. I've spoken to Google who said that the hardware supports it but that Telstra need to enable it in the carrier config.

Telstra support have told me that standalone is enabled for devices, and pointed me towards https://exchange.telstra.com.au/were-the-first-to-enable-standalone-5g-in-australia/ - but couldn't tell me what devices, or if the Pixel was one of them.

Thanks

I placed my order for the Pixel 5 on 12th  October and haven’t received it yet. I do not have an ETA, and cannot track via link Telstra advised (no tracking number).
I used the redemption code Telstra provided for the HUB Max offer via txt and placed with google store on 22nd Oct. items delivered on 23rd 1500, Syd —> Melb.

Yep I got google pixel on wed the 21st Oct and I have no SMS or email or code. Keep getting told it will be sorted in the next 24 to 48 hours. Nothing.. I've tried calling and using messenger but nothing.. this is false advertising and breach of contract. I don't know why I chose to stay with Telstra. Lucky my wife and daughter mobile are coming up for renewal. I'll be looking elsewhere for these services and my NBN. Perhaps we should all raise this with ombudsman. https://www.tio.com.au/contact-us

Please help how do I actually speak to a human who can help me at Telstra. I've been having same conversation for 7 days by text with no help. I just want to get my google nest hub max as promised but no one seems to know how to get new a code. Has anyone actually redeemed this offer by Telstra.

I have been contacting Telstra for 2 weeks trying to get my Google Nest activation code. The chats literally take hours... I'm talking 8 hours for a reply and they replied at 3am and asked if I was still available. I was told yesterday that this will be another 10-15 business days while they 'investigate' my order. Is this not breach of contract when we are told we will get a code in 3 days? I have contacted the ombudsman today because I have had enough and no one will sort it out.

Same for me, had the phone for over a week, managed to get an escalation via chat after many hours, 4 days later and still no code or response.

I've just logged a complaint with the ombudsman I suggest everyone does the same. This is at best false advertising at worse breach of contract as they are not deliver. www.tio.com.au

I purchased my new Google Pixel 5 two days ago and yet to receive my promo code, has everyone got theirs yet? Did you have to chase it down?

Thanks

I'm into my 3 week now and still haven't received. My complaint with the ombudsman has given Telstra until November 16 to get it sorted.

Hadn't received my code within a week of purchase so first tried to use the app to get support.....no help, they just kept finishing their shift and I had to wait for a new person and not one of them actually got back to me about the issue.

So today, I go into the store and the guy tells me it's a Google promotion, so ask them.

Which I am doing right now...and it seems he just straight up lied, it is a Telstra deal. So I'll be going back in tomorrow to progress the issue.

There is one technicality in my case that I think may be disputed and that is I didn't start a new contract with them when I bought the handset. I'm still a Telstra customer but I just continued with my current service with them.
