The Telstra mobile network in parts of Northwood (NSW) is expected to be impacted from Monday 20 September for up to five days due to a tower relocation. Fixed line internet and home phone services will not be affected.
As a result, all network providers need to move their telecommunications equipment to a new location.
What are we doing about it?
We have deployed temporary network infrastructure and optimised the surrounding network coverage to try to limit the impact. There may still be some disruption to mobile coverage outdoors and some loss of mobile coverage indoors. Customers with access to Wi-Fi should still be able to make voice and video calls from their mobile phones when connected. More information about how to turn on Wi-fi calling can be found here.
We’re here to help
As the network sites for all mobile service providers are being moved, it is possible that providers in the area will lose coverage, which could impact calls to emergency services (000). Emergency calls can still be made using a home phone or over Wi-Fi using a Wi-Fi connected mobile phone.
If you do not have access to a home phone and someone in your household may be at risk without a working mobile phone, you can call us on our dedicated priority assistance line on 1800 331 286 and we’ll do what we can to help.
