From 1 July 2020, customers who buy a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster will have peace of mind, knowing that their purchase comes with a guarantee that Telstra will deliver Wi-Fi coverage in every room of their home, or they can cancel their Smart Wi-Fi Booster repayments with no further charge. This means they can make video calls, play games and stream entertainment in every room of their home.

How do you get guaranteed Wi-Fi coverage?

Purchasing a Smart Wi-Fi Booster with the Wi-Fi Guarantee includes:

  • $0 Upgrade to a Telstra Smart Modem (if you don’t already have one)
  • Tools to test, optimise and control Wi-Fi (Home Dashboard and the My Telstra app) ​
  • Remote monitoring and proactive support for Wi-Fi setup  
  • Additional boosters (up to three if required) at no additional cost

 

If we can’t deliver full Wi-Fi coverage in every room of your home within 30 days’ of you letting us know about your limited Wi-Fi coverage, you can cancel without paying any remaining booster repayments and we’ll also credit you back your last repayment. We’ll provide you with paid return postage satchel for you to send back any additional boosters we’ve provided you. Your original booster remains yours to keep.

If you move house (to another nbn-connected premises) or extend your home, the Wi-Fi Guarantee still applies (within 24 months of initial date of Smart Wi-Fi Booster purchase)​.

Things you need to know:

Wi-Fi Guarantee: nbn™ premises only. Maximum 4 boosters per broadband account. We have 30 days from when you let us know about a Wi-Fi issue to fix it. If we can’t, you can cancel your Wi-Fi Guarantee service at no extra cost. Any additional boosters must be returned within 14 days when you cancel. $200 non-return fee applies.

Telstra Smart Modem: 4G coverage required. Mobile backup speeds are limited to 6/1mbps and will vary with location and content accessed.

@ashliem this sounds great. But we have Bigpond cable until NBN is connected in a few months. Does it work for cable if using a Smart Modem Gen 2? If so, how can we arrange for someone to sell this service to me? My calls to Telstra are hung up on, and 24/7 chat doesn't work. Don't want a new contract just yet...

Yes. If your old modem is not a Telstra Smart modem Gen 1.1 (DJSO230) or a Telstra Smart modem Gen 2 (LH1000 or DJA0231) disconnect old modem and replace with the new Gen 2 modem.
