Hi LizW99,
If it's been 6 months since the expiry date of your last Telstra Pre-Paid recharge, your SIM would have been deactivated and you would have lost your mobile phone number and any credit you had on the Pre-Paid service.
You would need to purchase a new Pre-Paid SIM (which comes with a new phone number) and activate it to start using it.
If it's been less than 6 months since the expiry date of your last recharge, the SIM will still be activated.
If your last recharge hasn't expired, then just put the SIM back into your mobile phone and you should still be able to use the Pre-Paid service as usual.
If your last recharge has expired then you need to put another recharge on.
The below links have the different methods you can use to recharge.
