Phone was not unlocked from Telstra shop

I am currently in London. On the 13th may I went to the tuggerah Telstra store to get my phone unlocked so I could purchase a sim and use it overseas. I was charged $27.50 and given instructions of what to do when I put in the new sim.

Well I just installed the new sim cars and get the following message 'device locked. Contact Telstra.'

Can anyone at Telstra please help me ASAP. Thanks

Hi angmel,

 

This should definitely be unlocked for you, my apologies that this has not worked as expected.

 

In some cases, depending on the device and manufacturer this can take several days to complete or there may be further steps. For example with iPhones, you need to sync with iTunes or sometimes factory reset to complete the unlock.

 

What kind of phone do you have?

Who do I contact to try and get my telstra mobile phone unlocked. I am in the USA and need a phone. So I purchaesed a sim card here to get a local phone number to use while I am here for the next 2 months

It will depend on the handset that you have Michelle as we do have a link to have this completed online if you have an iPhone handset. This can be completed at:

www.telstra.com.au/unlock

 

If this is not an iPhone then you will need to contact us on the overseas number and get the unlocking completed by the specialised team. This can be completed on +61 2 9242 0570 and say 'Unlock' (24/7).
