Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

Answered

Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

Who manufactures these phones? They have not been documented on the ZTE site, or announced on ZTE Facebook, so they might be Alcatel. Telstra does not bother mentioning VoLTE, so I assume they all do it now.

They are both ZTE phones. I believe they are the A5 and A7 2020 mode.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

I'm not sure, now, after an ebay seller calling the Evoke Pro 2 an Alcatel 5029d. The Alcatel 3L 2020 has identical specs on gsmarena as the Telstra website.

Alcatel may be badge engineering the ZTE device as well??

They have to be Pro 2 models in both cases. Maybe I should email them. ZTE service is usually excellent.

Re: Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

Yes, but it is unlikely that another manufacturer would use the same model naming - Telstra sell other ZTE product under their banner?

Re: Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

ZTE supports says Evoke Pro 2 is Alcatel, and Evoke Plus 2 is Telstra.

K?

But both are made by ZTE?

Re: Telstra Evoke Pro 2, Essential Pro 2

Possible ZTE makes it exclusively for alcatel, and alcatel is responsible for all support. But ZTE is not admitting to being the manufacturer. Or possible they just happen to make the same design phone in a different factory.

Alcatel have manufactured devices in the past, but could still be badge engineering this particular device.

Telstra don't make handsets as far as I know, just stick labels on devices from other manufacturers and have custom firmware is some cases.
