transferring number from prepaid to share plan

hey guys

I am wanting to change my prepaid mobile (iphone5) sim to my spouses mobile share plan ( $35 data share sim + unlimited calls and texts). The only hurdle I can see is whether or not I can still keep my prepaid mobile number when I do the transfer.

is there a possiblility that I can keep my number?
