i am on the telstra prepaid max $30 per month and usually have a couple of gb of data left. This month i have run out already with 2 weeks left on my acc. I checked out my usage on the my telstra app and i seen something very strange on my calls history.

There's nothing unusual about that at all. That just means that you are on PrePaid and your plan has unlimited calls to Australian Landlines and Mobiles.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
