Calling from Europe

Answered

I will be travelling later in the year for a month around Ireland, England and France.  I have a prepaid mobile phone on a $30 month plan.  I'm guessing that I won't be able to make calls.  Does anyone have any advice for me about how to keep in touch with family while I'm away? Thank you.

Re: Calling from Europe

You can make calls if you enable International but it is very expensive. See https://www.telstra.com.au/international-roaming/pre-paid-mobile

Calls cost $2.00 per minute both incoming and outgoing. See https://www.telstra.com.au/international-roaming/availability-pricing/pre-paid#prepaidplans for pricing

To avoid fees suggest you install Skype or Hangouts and  use it to keep in contact when connected to a Wi-Fi hot spot or if phone unlocked install a local or international SIM

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.
